Hello everyone! June was definitely a busy month for PSI. We just wanted to share the names of organizations that received the Positive Spaces Initaitive workshop this month.
OCASI defines Positive Spaces as welcoming environments where LGBTQ+ newcomers are able to access culturally inclusive services with dignity and respect, and where service providers can work free from discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. The Council believes that in order to create welcoming environments, awareness and education is necessary - OCASI’s latest webinars on access, equity, and anti-oppression aim to do just that.
The objective of the roundtable is to provide the LGBTQ+ and settlement sectors an opportunity to discuss regional strengths and gaps in serving LGBTQ+ newcomers, and to develop strategies and opportunities for collaboration in order to effectively support LGBTQ+ newcomers.
We are so excited and proud to be part of Testimony: A Living Exhibition of Queer Youth - an exhibition of LGBTQ youth stories and experiences from all around the world. Testimony is part of the All Out Arts 10th Annual Fresh Fruit Festival.
Don't forget to check out this panel this week. OCASI is one of the Envisioning community partners!
We are now meeting at 2:30pm at the corner of Isabella and Jarvis, NOT at 12pm. Thank you!!!
